FLORYPIEDRA offers a variety of presentations to suit the needs of any venue. As a Duo, Quintet or Large Ensemble, FLORYPIEDRA is an exciting Flamenco-Pop show that goes beyond "traditional Flamenco" to deliver an aurally and visually charged contemporary show. Our programs and educational presentation, are infused with overtones of oldworld Spain and the energy of the American contemporary music scene.
Duo
Liliana de León and Peter Torsiello share an impassioned evening of song, dance and multimedia visuals that captivates audiences of all ages. It's a stunning performance filled with original, life-inspired works and personal revelations. Liliana de Leon's gifted dance is featured in traditional and modern ways. With astounding shawl, fan, castanet and heelwork, it's easy to see why Liliana has been regarded as one of the most respected flamenco dancer/choreographers in the western United States. Peter's original guitar style is a reminiscent
blend of Leo Kottke, Carlos Santana and Monolo Sanlucar; and his soaring voice has often been compared to those of Marc Anthony and Billy Joel. Peter's music is so well received that it has been used for the television series "Third Watch", as well as United Airlines and MGM Television Productions. The love that Liliana and Peter share for one another is evident in this enchanting, memorable performance.
Quintet
 The FLORYPIEDRA Quintet utilizes some of the finest dancers and musicians the West Coast Latin-flamenco scene has to offer. Our premiere, alternative Flamenco-Pop show includes energy-driven hits, bilingual love songs, vocal expressions, spoken word moments and rhythmically motivated pieces. Complimented with percussion, bass, and one additional dancer, our Quintet is a collaborative force that supports an exhilarating show. Dancers communicate time, space, syncopation, dynamics, and inner feelings as an integral part of this experience. Audiences will enjoy stimulating exchanges between performers that are guaranteed to get the blood flowing.
Large Ensemble
If your venue demands a show with the greatest intensity, FLORYPIEDRA's Large Ensemble packs a punch of visual and aural excitement. While a company of ten gifted dancers perform thunderous unison heelwork and solos, audiences will be dazzled by the beauty of multicolored fans, shawls and vibrant costumes. In addition, they'll experience the Quintet musicians plus a violinist, additional guitarist, percussionist and horn section with multi-media interaction. Our Large Ensemble show fuses talent and passion into a program with dynamic blends of Baile y Musica; Flamenco and Pop; Canción y Jaleo - all combined for a unique entertainment experience.
Educational Presentation
 FLORYPIEDRA creates and presents innovative, contemporary, traditional, theatrical and intercultural programs. And while our programs respect the legacy of Spain's vast artistic history, FLORYPIEDRA is very much a part of the current "Nuevo Flamenco" movement. The community at large is enriched by these life-infused entertainment and educational programs. With over fifteen years of teaching experience, and as an adjunct professor at UCLA, Liliana is an expert in the field of dance of Spanish-speaking countries. Our varied programs have met with great success in teaching people of all ages "Flamenco", "Latin Popular dances", "Mexican Popular and folk dances", "Creative Movement for Children", "Dance Geography", "Intercultural and Interdisciplinary Performance" and "Song Composition and Performance Techniques".
